How To Organize Your Cage & Get Rid Of Possible Mites And Bacteria

first dont get confused by the term substrate it is just another way of saying flooring or bedding material.

natural substrate is exactly that, all natural, such as coconut husks, bark chips, mulch etc..
in my opinion most snakes will thrive on natural substrate as long as the bedding is well maintained.
and is not kept too wet, and i think it goes a long way to a very natural look.
i like to go roughly 3 inches deep wich allows for sufficient burrowing.

the big drawback is that it can be difficult to clean, can hold bacteria, hides waste and has a tendency to hold extra water.

Aspen Snake Bedding review...
This bedding is very easy to clean and completely odorless (ask my girlfriend).
safe for all snakes.
Contains no toxic resins or oils.(no worries about digesting printed newspapers).
Odorless and virtually dust free.(cute girls will hold your snake more readily than a smelly room and cage, trust me on this)
191% absorptivity to keep cages clean and fresh.(no problems cleaning)
Light color makes it easy to spot clean as well as find parasites or pests that might be hidden with other substrates (so important for your animals health)
Easy to clean (did i mention that already)
Green Product made from renewable resource. (big buzzword today with my friends green)
